Boston Day 2
Day 2 in Boston was a much better day, namely because I wasn’t a jerk but more so because we got to spend the day with my brother and his family!!!
Today was the day to see all the historic sites.
Squeeeeeeeeeal!
My history loving heart was giddy. This trip didn’t allow us to spend much time at any one spot, but at least we got to see the places and learn a little along the way.
Have you heard of The Freedom Trail? We decided to walk it and saw most of the 16 historic sites that played a role in the American Revolution.
In between seeing the historic places, we went to Little Italy, where we got fresh bread and prosciutto, and of course we squeezed in a playground as well.
Have you heard of the cop slide?
Take a minute and go check this out. I still can’t figure out how this happened, but my jaw dropped. The memes are even better…
My kids loved it and all came down the slide without incident.
“Cop Slide”
Seriously, how did the cop slide down so wrong???
After walking all over the city, we started to make our way back to the car and had the best little tour one could never plan.
In Beacon Hill, my niece spotted an Open House and asked if we could come in. This house is across the street from John Kerry’s and is a 6 story 16 million dollar home.
“Don’t touch anything!”
I still can’t believe the broker let us walk through with 6 kids in tow. He must have been really bored or really desperate. Either way, I’m grateful for whatever it was that made him say yes and gave us a chance to see inside this next level nice 1835 home.
We could have called it a day right then and there, but we had one more stop before we called it…Harvard.
I didn’t know what to expect, but it was gorgeous.
Of course it was.
And we got to see it in all its glory because commencement was held just hours earlier.
My kids got to see graduates and professors in all their regalia walking through campus celebrating major milestones.
What a cool thing for my kids to see.
We had one last meal all together and then parted ways. Them back to NH and us back to the campground for probably the best night of sleep of the entire trip.
We were so tired.
Justin and I both agree that Boston is a place we’d love to go back to and spend more time there, preferably without the kids…
But first, we have more new places to explore!
