Homestretch
Ahhhh…the last day.
Sometimes Justin can’t sleep and sometimes we are the beneficiaries of that lack of sleep.
Today was one of those days.
Justin woke up early and by the time I woke up, we were already 3+ hours down the road.
That’s my kind of road tripping!
All cuddled up with Avett, cruising down the road, blissfully unaware.
FYI, this is not how we usually slept, but for some reason, I slept on the couch the night before. I woke up and it melted my heart to have Avett snuggling next to me.
He even has a little smile in this picture, doesn’t he? And trust me…he is sound asleep here. The three of us are out!
I’m also wondering how Justin took this picture because it looks like we’re moving, judging by the trees in the window…
Anywho, we woke up just in time to pull over at Buc-ee’s and have one last hurrah. And as one does in Buc-ee’s, we spent way too much time picking out snacks and grabbing last minute items for camp.
And then the final push home...
Ending a trip feeling good is a great time to start planning the next one…
Yellowstone…Mount Rushmore…Badlands…
That’s what we’re thinking next…
Wherever we go, we’ve learned that it’s going to be good and that this kind of travel works for our family. It wouldn’t work for a lot of people, but for me and my crew, it’s just our speed.
Now to go check on the chickens, pet the dogs, put eyes on the cats, pick some beans and check for cucumbers, then go wash an ungodly amount of laundry and fold it so my bigs can pack for camp…leaving in two days…
And then maybe when I’m done with all that I’ll tackle cleaning the camper that has been destroyed by my crew…
…or, better yet, I’ll go take a nap…
